Landscape of Memory

Landscape of Memory 2009 oil on linen 61x180cm
This work reflects my thought similarities of indigenous culture Australia to nomadic, Scythian symbols populating modern territories of Western Siberia, Kazakhstan and East Europe. While living and traveling through Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan I have seen some images that use similar visual vocabulary of symbols to Aboriginal.
Constraining myself to a culture within which I grew up I have used only symbols that I saw and learnt in Kazakhstan.
